Leftover Love: An app that can generate delicious recipes using leftovers in your fridge with just the click of a button! Created in collaboration with Lindsay Berardi.
Do you want to help the environment and reduce food waste while trying new tasty recipes using your leftovers? The app, Leftover Love, makes recipes based off of leftovers found in someone’s refrigerator. Simply plug in all of the leftovers in your refrigerator, then the app will create several recipes varying in difficulty and prep time using those leftovers. Have food restrictions or special dietary needs? The app allows each person to create a profile that keeps their dietary needs in mind when generating recipes. Also, there is an area where people can submit recipes that they believe others can use. The app will encourage people to eat what is in their fridge and not let it go to waste. Through reusing their leftovers, people will save money, try new recipes and most importantly help the environment and prevent food waste. By reusing leftovers, less food will be thrown away and a person will have to make less trips to the grocery store, which saves money. Also, people will be introduced to new, unique recipes that will encourage them to reuse their leftovers and try new foods. Lastly, by not throwing away leftovers, which allows food and energy to be saved which helps others and the environment. This app will allow people to receive award titles, like Super Saver, Leftover Lover and Wasteless Winner, based off of how many times they use the app to save leftovers.
